Male Voice Choral Championships, St Austell

THE International Male Voice Choral Championships are being held in Cornwall from tomorrow until Monday. As part of a four-way concert, Mevagissey Male Voice Choir will sing at St John's Church, St Austell, on Saturday at 7.30pm and at the final Hall for Cornwall concert on Monday at 7.30pm. Esperanto at the Gallery Bar, Calstock

Butterfly Ball at St Mellion, near Saltash

A BUTTERFLY Ball is being held on Saturday in aid of KT's Fund at St Mellion International Resort, near Saltash. The black tie event will include music from jazz band Company B and starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £45 and are available from the Flower Gallery in Liskeard or by calling 01579 342897.

English National Surfing Championships, Watergate Bay

FOLLOWING its 40th anniversary last year, the competition will see the next generation of young surfers battle to knock established competitors off the top spot, over several divisions on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. For more information call 01637 860543.

Star Wars charity day, St Austell

A STAR Wars-themed fun day is coming to St Austell on Saturday. The event, using the tagline "May the fourth be with you" is hosted by St Austell Bay Chamber of Commerce, and will feature live music, inflatable jousting, a bucking bronco and fancy dress. Proceeds will go to breast cancer charity Bosom Buddies UK.

Motor racing, near Launceston

THE thrilling Werrington Park Speed Hillclimb in Werrington is being staged by Plymouth Motor Club this weekend, and you can watch road-going saloons, sports cars and single seater racing cars all trying to race over the 1,250 yards of track in the best time they can. Racing takes place from 9am on Saturday until 5pm on Sunday.

Maytime Fun Day, Trenance Cottages

THE Friends of Trenance Cottages are holding a colourful combo from 11am to 4pm on Sunday of charity stalls, fairground rides, games and entertainment down at Trenance Gardens.
