BODMIN Lions' Club is inviting applications from senior citizens of the town and district for a place at their annual festive party which takes place on Sunday, December 1 at the Shire House Suite from 3pm.

The Lions are providing free refreshment and entertainment, and free transport is available for those who need it.

Entertainers will be Jim Tilley, plus Roger and Viv Bennett performing traditional and Cornish music, while Adrian Wilton will be the compère. A free bingo session will round off the party, which finishes at 7pm.

Places are limited. Application forms are now available at Stan May Stores, Higher Bore Street and Bunts Newsagents, Mount Folly Square and should be returned as soon as possible.

One thing guaranteed to annoy me is he increased use of American English. Here as any journalist should know "invite" is a verb. The noun if you can be bothered to look it up is "invitation".
