Police have confirmed that a woman who died after a collision on the A395 between Launceston and Camelford yesterday morning was local.
The 75-year-old was driving a red Peugeot 206 when it struck a silver VW Passat at Hallworthy.
The driver of the Passat, identified as a 29-year-old from Hampshire, was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth to be treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be serious.
Police and other emergency services, including paramedics, were called to the scene at around 11.10am.
The main A395 was blocked to traffic at Kennards House, on the A30 near Launceston, from the northerly direction, and from the Tresmeer/Egloskerry turn-off at the western end.
Diversions were set up and the road was closed for several hours.
