St Austell Feast Week events schedule revealed

UPDATE - 10.30am: TIMES of some events have altered slightly.

EARLIER: THE EVENT schedule for St Austell’s Feast Week has been revealed.

The culmination of fun, food and colour will run this year from Friday, July 5, until Saturday, July 13.

Friday, July 5

9am-5pm - Family History Day at St Austell Community Library

7pm - Festival of Music and Speech at St John’s Methodist Church

Saturday, July 6

10am-1pm - Victorian Street Theatre in Holy Trinity Church grounds

10am-4pm - Exhibition on Food and Poverty at Holy Trinity Church

11am-12.30pm - Bread Riots March and Rally throughout the town

Flash Choir at White River Place. Time to be confirmed

6pm - Showing of Stocker’s Copper at Wheal Martyn Museum

Sunday, July 7

11am-12pm - Open air church service in Truro Road Park

1.30-3pm - Traditional games in Truro Road Park

3-4pm - Tea treat for children in Truro Road Park

6.30-9.30pmpm - Old Cornish film event, venue to be confirmed

Monday, July 8

10-11am - Cookery demonstrations at White River Place

7.30-8.30pm – Illustrated talk on the St Austell Bread Riot 1847, at the White Hart hotel

Tuesday, July 9

10-11am - Cookery demonstrations at White River Place

2-4pm - Old Cornwall Society walks throughout the town

6-8pm – Building Stones of St Austell walk and talk by Colin Bristow and Carl Roberts throughout the town, meeting outside St Austell Railway/Bus Station

Wednesday, July 10

10-11am - Cookery demonstrations at White River Place

3-6pm - Pre-theatre Cornish food and drink event at St Austell Community Library

Thursday, July 11

10-11am - Cookery demonstrations at White River Place

2-4pm - Old Cornwall Society walks throughout the town

7.30-8.30pm - The Pentewan Railway talk by Robert Evans at the White Hart hotel

Friday, July 12

10-11am - Cookery demonstrations at White River Place

7.30-8.30pm - The Stories of St Austell talk by Carl Roberts at the White Hart

Saturday, July 13

Furry Dance throughout St Austell – time to be confirmed

11-11.30am - Seize the Day Pre-show at Biddicks Court and White River Place

11-11.15am - Flash choir at White River Place

11.30am-12pm - Seize the Day Event at White River Place

12pm - Gargoyle Parade throughout the town

10am-5pm - Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Biddicks Court

1-4pm - Truro Road Park fun event

All day—Beer festival at Wetherspoons pub, Biddicks Court
