POSTERS advertising events in Newquay will have to go through a different procedure in future.

Newquay Town Council's system for putting out posters on event boards has changed with the aim of making it more beneficial to residents.

If you need to put up an event poster, take it to the Tourist Information Centre at least four weeks before the event is to take place.

The poster will then be placed in any vacant slots available on the boards in and around the town by the town crier.

"Also, don't forget to let the centre know so that it can place your event on the website calendar," said Joe Piwecki, senior assistant to the town clerk.

"We hope that this will be a more effective and organised system, which will give everyone the opportunity to promote their event."
