CHINESE is renowned as one of the hardest languages to learn – but tots at a Newquay nursery were seen happily scribbling away in the oriental text on Friday.
Youngsters at First Steps Pre-School took part in a host of activities to celebrate the Chinese new year, from making puppets to sampling noodles and crackers.
Supervisor Carla Mutton said: "They had a go at Chinese writing and did really well at it. It was very impressive.
"They also loved tasting the Chinese food, as some of them had never had it before. They all had a really good time."
