Small fire in train

COMMUTERS were evacuated after a train carriage caught fire at Liskeard Railway Station.

The fire happened at around 10.15am on Monday morning, with fire crews from Liskeard and Looe attending.

The small fire at the front of the engine was out when they arrived but there was heavy smoke coming from the train.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire crews used a thermal imaging camera to detect hotspots."
