RESIDENTS in Par are being invited to a meeting to find out more about the future plans for Par beach.

The event to celebrate the launch of the Par Beach Management Group will take place at Gott Hall, Par, on Saturday, January 12, and will present residents with the opportunity to have their say.

Richard Parks, chairman of the Friends of Par Beach, said: "Following the successful event of 2011 we have listened to your ideas, gained funding and implemented changes. Now it is time to help us prioritise future plans and decide where we should put our energy for positive change for Par beach."

The Par Beach Management Group consists of local organisations who have an interest in the beach. Among others these include; Par Community Association, local councillors, Friends of Par Beach and Park Leisure Ltd.

Representatives from the group will be available at the meeting to discuss the latest developments.

David Hughes, Cornwall councillor for Tywardreath, added: "The open day two years ago was a great success that produced lots of ideas which have moved forwards. I'm looking forward to this one."

The event is open between 10am and 3pm and alongside free tea and cake will give residents a chance to make a difference to a much-loved place.

"Here is an opportunity for all organisations with an interest in the beach to work together formally to agree an annual action plan," said Martin Eddy, Cornwall Council's community network manager.
