AN AMATEUR dramatics group in Fowey is calling out for new members – especially those who are handy with a needle.

No, it's not another audition for their recent murder mystery play, Murder At Upham Hall, which closed at Fowey Town Hall on Saturday, but a call for a costume maker.

The Troy Players' current costume maker is stepping down and the group hope to fill the gap.

Director Jules Jonklaas, who decided to have her first foray into penning a murder mystery for this show, said the actors turned the production around very quickly. The Troy Players had only finished their previous show in October before the curtain went up for Murder At Upham Hall last week.

Miss Jonklaas said the 35-strong players' group are a fantastic bunch.

"We are always looking for new people, especially the young and men. Even if they don't want to tread the boards they might want to help behind the scenes.

"We're also looking for someone to make clothes and alterations; it won't be anything too difficult. I would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in getting in touch."

For further information call Miss Jonklaas on 01726 812700.
