BODMIN residents will be treated to 30 minutes of free parking on election day as a bid to get more people to vote.
Bodmin town council has provided half an hour of free parking in its Priory car park on Thursday, May 2.
It says it hopes the concession will be an incentive for more people to cast their votes for the town and Cornwall council candidates.
Pay-and-display rules remain in operation on the day and will be enforced for anyone parking for longer than 30 minutes.
Councillor Phil Kerridge, chairman of the council's promotions committee, said: "The town council is pleased to assist in this way and hopes that this incentive will get more people out to vote for both the Cornwall Council and town council elections."
