CAMELFORD Town Council has appointed a new town clerk, and he will take up his position next month.
Lee Dunkley, who has been Redruth Town Council's community partnership officer, will take up his new role on Monday, February 10.
While working at Redruth he has been instrumental in bringing together a major events programme.
In Camelford he follows Marian Sedgwick, who retired on November 1.
In the interim much of the town clerk's work has been carried out by mayor Andy Shaw with the help of Mrs Sedgwick.
"We couldn't have survived without her help," said Mr Shaw, who described Mr Dunkley as "a progressive young man".
Mr Dunkley, who is aged 27 and married with three children, lives in Mullion on the Lizard, where his wife is a teacher.
Originally from Northamptonshire, he has a BA in geography and an MPhil.
"I spent time in Camelford before Christmas and was overwhelmed by the welcome I received," he said.
