BUSINESSES in North Cornwall came together last week to find out more about a new facility which has opened in Launceston.

The Business Space, managed by Cornwall College Business and based in Dunheved House, is a newly refurbished meeting and conference facility, which opened its doors to 40 local businesses at the Open for Business networking event.

Those attending enjoyed a breakfast prepared by Launceston College students and heard about new training and funding opportunities now available in North Cornwall.

Sue Gallant, technical manager at HR Jaspers & Son Ltd, and Nikki Truesdale, of Proper Cornish, also presented to the collective, providing a local business perspective on how training has made a hugely positive impact on their businesses.

Tamsyn Harris, head of business development at Cornwall College Business, said: "We are so pleased to have a permanent site in North Cornwall to enable us to provide better services to businesses in the area.

"Meeting with the local business community through focus groups and events means that we can provide the right training that is needed in North Cornwall and we look forward to developing our business relationships."

Alan Guest, chairman of Launceston Chamber of Commerce, said: "The new Business Space at Dunheved House is a very good venue for business and training meeting – it combines modern technology with an historic building."
