"LOOSE WOMAN" Lynda Bellingham has been filming in Cornwall in readiness for her new TV series.

My Tasty Travels with Lynda Bellingham, which hit our screens on Monday at 4pm, sees the actress – perhaps best remembered for being the Oxo mum in the Eighties TV ads – take to the road in her vintage campervan "Battenberg" on a quest to seek out Britain's best summer eats and visit the people and places that make this country so special.

Filmed by Plymouth-based Twofour Productions, the series casts its net from country fêtes to food and drink festivals, family picnics to cricket teas, street food to street parties, while Lynda immerses herself in the people and places that give the country its distinct seasonal flavour.

In each of the episodes, Lynda is tasked with a food challenge.

Her culinary skills are put to the test as she rustles up a variety of dishes. In Looe, Trawlers on the Quay head chef Jonathan Hancock was asked to demonstrate a simple sea bream recipe for the show, which was filmed at the town's Barclay House restaurant.

"It's always nice to do something different and I'm always more than happy to showcase the fantastic fish we have here in Looe," he said.

"I enjoyed it but I don't think I'll be giving up the day job any time soon."

Lynda and Battenberg also filmed at Trebah Garden. Head gardener Darren Dickey said: "Lynda was a truly charming lady who made me feel instantly at ease. She was full of enthusiasm for the garden and took a real interest in its history."

The series will air on ITV every weekday throughout September.
