NATIONAL YHA Day was heartily embraced by Golant Youth Hostel, which flung open its doors to children of all ages.

"The weather held out but the turnout wasn't as epic as we were expecting," said Paul Eddington, who runs the hostel.

"It was a good day, we had a lot of people who came from the locality."

The hostel works alongside many local children's organisations, and its New Horizons Community Farm project is currently one of Asda St Austell's chosen charities.
