COLOUR and flair have filled Newquay Sports Centre for the annual Newquay Tretherras Art Exhibition.

The showcase highlights work from every pupils who took the GCSE art, and A level art and photography courses at the school.

The catalogue of work shows off everything from traditional drawing, painting and large-scale sculptures to mixed-media reliefs, portraiture, textile design and digitally created masterpieces.

Head of art Phil Strugnell said: "I was very proud to see so many parents and students at the private view.

"The Tretherras students and staff have worked so hard this year and I think the quality, range and individuality of the work is amazing.

"It's great, too, that the arts are so supported and valued here in Newquay."
