A RANGE of stalls and entertainment will be available at a Christmas Fair raising money for a Cornish charity.

Cornwall Hospice Care will hold its Christmas Fair at The Vean, a restored Georgian lodge that is part of the Caerhays Estate on the Roseland.

There will be craft stalls with handmade Christmas gifts, Santa's grotto, hot food and refreshments and live music from a section of Mevagissey Male Voice Choir and the children from Veryan School.

Clare Bray, community fundraiser for the charity, said: "We were delighted to be asked to hold a Christmas Fair at the Vean – the beautiful setting is sure to put everyone in the festive spirit.

"It currently costs £6.8 million annually to run our services, so we can care for patients from our two hospices, Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia's Hospice in Hayle.

"Events like these help us to raise some of the much-needed money so we can continue offering our services free of charge to patients."

The fair will run on December 1 from 10am to 5pm – admission is £3 per adult and free for children under 16.

Lucinda Rimmington, Caerhays' marketing officer, said: "It is good to put something back into the community and this is a great cause. Everyone here is hoping that the event raises lots of much-needed cash for Cornwall Hospice Care."
