OCEAN is celebrating after registering our 100th site with the Considerate Constructors Scheme which recognises companies which project a positive image of the construction industry.

Ocean and sister company Gilbert and Goode strive to achieve excellence with all new housing developments in Cornwall. This is recognised in the consistently high scores awarded by the Considerate Constructors Scheme which rewards constructors which care for their workforce, protect the environment, enhance the appearance of and work with local communities.

Ocean Group's Chief Executive David Renwick said: "We are extremely proud of the work we have done in the communities across Cornwall with our new build development programme.

"The Considerate Constructors awards demonstrate that Ocean and Gilbert and Goode are recognised as industry leaders and we will continue to strive to work with local communities on all projects."

Gilbert and Goode have run many different community based considerate projects on sites including providing local school children with site health and safety tours in Fraddon, providing top soil for school gardens, in Mevagissey, and conducting site visits for university students in Connor Downs.

The company consistently receives awards at the annual Considerate awards in London including gold awards for sites in Fowey and St Austell and a runner's up award for the best scheme nationally.

Gilbert and Goode and Ocean are due to attend the 2014 awards ceremony in April where a development of 19 homes, in Fraddon, has been shortlisted for an award.

The 100th site registration is for a small infill development of 6 houses at Boscoppa Road, St Austell which will start this month and hopefully be nominated next year.
