A CAR snapped an electricity pole in half and ended up on its roof in a crash in Bodmin on Saturday afternoon.

Nobody was injured and electrical engineers were called to make the scene between the Westheath Avenue and Corporation Road junction safe.

Police cordoned the area off at around 5.20pm.

A fire service spokesman said: "Five firefighters from Bodmin attended a call to a single-vehicle collision involving a car and electric pole, the car then rolled onto its roof.

"No one was trapped in the car, however, the pole had snapped at its base as a result."
