STUDENTS were getting festive at their annual carol service, near Callington.

A festive cheer was heard from Stoke Climsland church last week when it hosted Duchy College Stoke Climsland's annual carol service.

Filling the church with a happy buzz, staff, students and local residents were treated to traditional carols, readings and hand bells as well as an array of shepherds, angels and wise men as children from Flying Start Nursery dressed up to sing Away In A Manger.

Head of Duchy College, Andrew Counsell, said: "The carol service is an important event on the college's calendar as it brings people together to mark the start of the Christmas celebrations.

"It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and my personal thanks go to all who helped to make it such a success."

The service, introduced and led by the Reverend Robert Oakes, also included a vocal piece – Hush There's A Baby, from the college's Pathfinder students.
