MEMBERS of the Launceston Male Voice Choir have issued a call to arms to fellow choristers in East Cornwall to join in a mass choir performance to raise much-needed funds for the flood victims of the Somerset Levels.

Four other choirs have already agreed to take part – Liskerret (Liskeard), Pelynt, Burraton (Saltash), and Tintagel – who will join voices in a gala concert hosted by Launceston MVC on Saturday, February 15, in Launceston Central Methodist Church at 7.30pm.

More than 100 choristers are expected to take part including guest supporting acts. All proceeds will be sent at once to those in need.

Launceston Choir chairman, Brian Jennings, said: "The support we have from our own choir members, and the immediate response from our other Cornish choirs and friends has been astonishing."

Tickets, available on the door, cost £5, doors open at 6.30pm for 7.30pm start. All proceeds will be donated to key farming charities, RABI, Addington Fund, Farm Community Network.
