THE EFFORTS of a group of Bodmin support workers in caring for people with learning and health disabilities have been recognised by the Brandon Trust charity.

The team, who look after five local people at a supported living bungalow in the town, has been named the charity's Team of the Year at a ceremony in Cheltenham.

Senior support staff member Kirsty Venables said: "It's been an extremely busy year, with the Bodmin team coming together to develop new skills and to help one another and those they support, including one person who had a terminal illness. It's been a real team effort and very much deserved recognition."

They also drew on their experience and passion to induct new staff to a very high standard, she said.
