RESCUE services said a car seat saved a toddler during a forceful crash near Launceston on Saturday.
In a message posted on Twitter, a spokesman for Launceston fire crew said a two-year-old girl was saved from injury despite a significant impact due to a correctly installed seat.
Two crews from Launceston and the rescue tender from Bodmin attended the scene between Egloskerry and Launceston just before midday.
Using crash-rescue equipment, firefighters had to release one of the passengers of the car. The van driver was airlifted to hospital, but the car driver and child were taken home to Launceston.
