Air ambulance comes to the aid of injured biker after collision

A MOTORCYCLIST from Newquay was airlifted to hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car next to the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge on Saturday.

The 25-year-old suffered serious injuries and was transferred to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske by the Devon Air Ambulance.

Police say the man's injuries were not life-threatening.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, a Vauxhall Corsa, registered in Derbyshire which ended up in a hedge, was uninjured.

The collision happened just before 2.30pm and the A39 was closed until 4.45pm.
